Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ambassador of the European Union, met with the President

News Desk: President. EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Tering has paid a farewell call on Abdul Hamid. Tering went to Bangabhaban on Sunday to meet the President.

During the meeting, the President thanked the outgoing Ambassador for strengthening relations between the European Union and Bangladesh during his tenure.
    
The President said the European Union is one of the development partners of Bangladesh. The cooperation of the European Union in various fields including trade, investment, migration, communication, climate change is contributing to the development of Bangladesh. The President hoped that the member countries of the European Union would take into account the economic growth and geopolitical situation of Bangladesh in formulating policies.

The President thanked the European Union for its assistance in achieving the SDGs and hoped that this cooperation would continue in the days to come. Thanking the European Union for providing humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya forcibly displaced from Myanmar, the President hoped that the European Union would continue to put pressure on Myanmar to repatriate the Rohingya.
    
Corona, the outgoing EU envoy, praised the steps taken by the government to address the situation and keep the economy afloat. He thanked the President for his overall cooperation during his tenure in Bangladesh.
