PM mourns death of Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan

News Desk:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of the incumbent president and former director-general of Bangla Academy and renowned researcher of folk culture Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan.

In a message of condolence, the premier said “The Swadhinata Puroskar and Ekushey Padak awardee researcher and writer have upheld Bangladesh’s folk culture, heritage, and literature through his rare researches which will inspire the research workers in future.”

Recalling his contribution to editing and publication of the Osamapto Atmojiboni, Karagarer Rojnamcha, and Amar Dekha Naya Chin written by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, she said, “Shamsuzzaman Khan will be remembered due to his skill of works.”

The Prime Minister also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
