News Desk: On March 5th and 6th The Embassy of Japan and Bangladesh National Museum jointly organized “Japanese Film Festival 2021” at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum for the first time in two years. Featuring contemporary Japanese films, the event showcased various aspects of Japanese culture, history, and life.
Participants enjoyed award-winning films, such as “Oshin” directed by TOGASHI Shin, “Tagore Songs” by young director SASAKI Mika, “Finding Calico” by FUKAGAWA Yoshihiro, “Mentai-Piriri” by EGUCHI Kan, and finally “The Takatsu River” directed by NISHIKORI Yoshinari.
In his opening speech, Ambassador ITO Naoki stressed “I hope this Film Festival will provide opportunities for greater cultural exchanges and cooperation between Japan and Bangladesh”.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation, in cooperation with Bangladesh National Museum. The event was free of charge and open to audiences of all walks of life.
