Kurigram Correspondent: A letter signed by ABM Mejbah Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner of the Business, Commerce and Investment Branch of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, was issued on July 17 to Messrs. Sohel & Brothers to stop selling fuel oil illegally along the highway in Chilmari, Kurigram.

‎However, ignoring this instruction, Messrs. Sohel & Brothers, Jummapara, Matikata, Chilmari, are secretly selling fuel oil illegally along the highway. The owner of the license is Md. Samiul Alam Sohel.

‎On Monday (July 28), it was seen after noon that fuel oil was being sold in trucks. However, even though the shops are closed most of the time, Sohel & Brothers are secretly continuing these activities at different times by contacting the drivers.

‎It is known that Messrs. Sagar Filling Station and LPG Gas Station are located at the Matikata intersection of the upazila, next to the Kurigram-Chilmari highway. Although the filling station has been supplying oil for a long time, a fuel oil selling establishment and mini pump named Messrs. Sohel & Brothers have been established within about 100 meters of it.

‎When news about this was reported in several media outlets, the District Administrator formed a three-member investigation committee on his initiative. Later, according to the report given by the investigation committee, the Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Business, Commerce and Investment Branch of the Administrator's Office issued a letter ordering the closure of illegal fuel oil.

‎Local resident Jahangir Alam Saddam said, this is not a pump. He is also very skeptical about whether the oil is allowed to be sold. The administration should look into the matter on the spot and take necessary measures.
