Erdogan unveiled a master plan for the Muslim world

News Desk: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called for the establishment of a strong and integrated transportation system among member states to turn the economic potential of the Muslim world into reality.

He emphasized this in a video message sent to a conference of transport ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Istanbul.

President Erdoğan said that Muslim countries are spread across a vast geographical area—from Asia to Africa and from Europe to the Middle East. To transform the region’s natural corridors, dynamic young workforce, and rapidly growing markets into strategic strength, an efficient and reliable connectivity network is essential.

The Turkish president stated that strengthening connections among highways, railways, seaports, and airports of member countries would not only boost trade but also accelerate social and cultural interaction between nations. Referring to his country’s infrastructure development, he noted that through projects such as the Marmaray rail tunnel, the Eurasia Tunnel, and major bridges, Turkey has already strengthened its position on global trade routes. In particular, through the Trans-Caspian East–West Middle Corridor project, Turkey is working to revive the historic Silk Road in a modern form.

Erdoğan made it clear that Turkey does not view these massive investments solely in terms of national interest. The main goal, he said, is to enhance solidarity among OIC member states and create cross-border corridors through joint projects.
