Ayesha Arrested Based on Husband’s Information; Shocking Details Revealed

News Desk: Police have arrested domestic worker Ayesha in connection with the double murder of a mother and daughter in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Her husband, Rabbi, has also been detained. Both were arrested from Nalchity upazila in Jhalokathi.

Police said Ayesha was arrested based on information provided by her husband. Investigators also learned that Ayesha had committed a burglary at a house in the Beribadh area of Mohammadpur six months ago.

Tejgaon Division ADC Mohammad Jewel Rana told the media that Ayesha’s husband was first detained in the Savar area of Dhaka. Acting on the information he provided, police were able to arrest Ayesha in Nalchity.

Police confirmed that the arrest took place around noon on Wednesday. She will be interrogated further, and details will be disclosed afterward. Her husband will also be questioned, and if his involvement in the murders is found, he will be shown arrested in the case.

ADC Jewel Rana said that while investigating the previously clue-less double murder, police uncovered Ayesha’s past involvement in the burglary in Mohammadpur’s Beribadh area.

It is known that Ayesha was arrested from her father-in-law’s ancestral home in Nalchity, Barishal.

Nalchity Police Station OC Ashraf Ali told the media, “Ayesha was arrested from her husband’s family home. Further details will be shared by Dhaka police.”

Background: On Monday (8 December), police recovered the bodies of Laila Firoz (48) and her daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz (15) from their Mohammadpur residence. Later that night, Laila’s husband, schoolteacher A. J. M. Azizul Islam, filed a murder case naming domestic worker Ayesha as the sole accused.
