We want to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh: Prime Minister

News Desk: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has stated that the current government wants to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh.

​He said this on Saturday (July 25) morning at the two-day ‘National Semiconductor Symposium’ and ‘Robotics Summit’ held in Tejgaon.

​The Prime Minister said, "We want to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh. The export revenue target in the semiconductor sector will be met by 2030. The government views semiconductors as a national priority sector. A coordinated effort is required for the development of this sector."

​He further added that the government has already begun implementing plans to create a business-friendly environment for the semiconductor industry.

​Along with this, Tarique Rahman also mentioned the complete removal of all types of duties on raw materials for semiconductor manufacturing in this year's budget.
