News Desk: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has stated that the current government wants to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh.
He said this on Saturday (July 25) morning at the two-day ‘National Semiconductor Symposium’ and ‘Robotics Summit’ held in Tejgaon.
The Prime Minister said, "We want to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh. The export revenue target in the semiconductor sector will be met by 2030. The government views semiconductors as a national priority sector. A coordinated effort is required for the development of this sector."
He further added that the government has already begun implementing plans to create a business-friendly environment for the semiconductor industry.
Along with this, Tarique Rahman also mentioned the complete removal of all types of duties on raw materials for semiconductor manufacturing in this year's budget.
