Sports Desk: Jomel Warrickan was the best bowler for West Indies the day before. At the end of the day's play, he said, he wants to keep Bangladesh below 300 runs. On the way, Warikan gave a clear message by bowling set batsman Liton Das at the beginning of the second day today (Thursday). Bangladesh lost 6 wickets before 25 minutes.

But after that Shakib Al Hasan and Mehdi Hasan Miraj did not allow the Caribbeans to sit down. The pair added a maximum of 6 runs in the innings for the sixth wicket partnership. Bangladesh surpassed the quota of 300 runs, Shakib picked up the 25th Test fifty of his career. But Shakib could not finish the session. He was out due to the untimely death of a potential century.

Until the lunch break of the second day, Bangladesh scored 326 runs for 8 wickets. Shakib was out for 7 runs in an uncontrolled shot after playing a well-controlled innings. Miraj, who is unbeaten on 47, has spent the rest of the first session with Taizul Islam in the eighth wicket partnership.

He is also playing fluently. Shakib and Liton batted well in the last hour of the first day of the match. After losing 4 wickets two hundred years ago, Bangladesh was able to end the day in comfort with the Shakib-Liton partnership. They were both on their way to a personal half-century in an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership. But Liton, who scored 36 runs, lost his wicket after playing one wrong shot. But earlier in the day, Caribbean captain Craig Brathwaite made their job easier for Shakib-Liton. From the start he spread the fielding, the umbrellas of the fielders arranged around the bat.

Shakib-Liton effortlessly rotated the strike in the first over of the day in the scattered field setting. It seemed that they would easily make the previous day's pair bigger. But in the third over of the day, Liton was bowled to cut the ball very close to the stumps. At first it seemed that the wicket was broken by the wicket keeper's gloves. After watching the TV replay, the third umpire informed Bold's decision.

Liton's innings of 36 runs off 6 balls ended with 6 fours. Mehdi Miraj came on the wicket. With Shannon Gabriel attacking at the other end of the ball with only 12 overs to play, it looked as if the Caribbeans would pick up the remaining 4 wickets shortly. But all their efforts were wasted by Shakib and Miraj.

Both of them took Bangladesh ahead with smooth batting. However, Shakib got out with a bad shot by Rahkim Cornwall. His potential century of untimely death occurred. But before that, after a long 18 months, Shakib went down to play Tests and picked up the 25th Test fifty of his career. He was later dismissed for 6 runs.

After Shakib returned, Taizul and Miraj did not allow danger to happen. Mirage has scored 46 runs after playing positively since he started batting. In front of him is now the palm of the third fifty.
