Sports Desk: Rice Uddin Ahmed - He is almost unknown to the present generation, now most of those who are very enthusiastic about cricket do not know Rice Uddin that way. Don't know much about him. In the eyes of Rakibul Hasan, the former captain of the national team and the son of the country's cricket sun, Raisuddin Ahmed is an integral part of Bangladesh cricket, history alone.

The greatest guardian of cricket in the country, the architect. His death is the end of a trend. Former Bangladesh Cricket Board general secretary and senior co-president Rice Uddin Ahmed passed away on Wednesday (January 20th) morning at the age of 82. The cricket board was a dilapidated cottage 45 years after independence. At that time, the cricket board was a bottomless basket.

There was nothing to say about own income. The various activities were carried out with the annual allocation of the National Assembly and the government. Unable to pay the electricity bill, the board had to light candles at night to manage the work. Rice Uddin Ahmed was one of those who dreamed of illuminating cricket by lighting candles and working with the determination to take cricket forward in the world.

But sadly, the truth is that the Bangladesh Cricket Board did nothing on the day of the death of this guardian of cricket on Wednesday. Far from being a formality, there was not even a minute's silence before the Bangladesh-West Indies match in Sher-e-Bangla. This has only angered cricket fans, supporters and admirers. All in all, Rice Uddin has given up cricket. Did not take anything in return, did not get. It is an honor to be the first foreign team to play in Bangladesh in the mid-70s as a lifelong member of the world cricket elite and elite club Meriloban Cricket Club MCC.

Couldn't show? Doesn't he deserve respect and esteem? Jalal Yunus and Akram Khan, two of the BCB's policy makers, today (Thursday) lamented the matter. They assured that every effort would be made to show as much respect as possible before the second ODI of the series on Friday (January 22). Jalal Yunus, director of the board and chairman of the media committee, said: Since everything is broadcast on satellite, it is difficult to do anything in the present moment without saying it in advance. So it was not possible to observe silence on Wednesday.

But we want to show respect to his soul. We will do whatever we can to show respect to the Rice brothers before the second ODI on Friday. ' Jalal recalled Rice Uddin's grateful contribution, saying, "When I started my career as a player in the mid-seventies, Rice Bhai was the board secretary. I have seen how the Rice brothers, Damal brothers, Huda brothers and Reza brothers run the cricket board despite the limitations and weak economic base.

The field was small, the umpires could not afford to pay. Even then they run regular first, second division leagues at their own expense. Rice Bhai's contribution to the country's cricket is immense.
