News Desk: The US Congress has fulfilled its constitutional responsibilities in the wake of the scandal in Washington DC, and has approved Joseph R. Biden and Kamala de Harris as president and vice president, respectively, in a legitimate election. Earl Robert Miller, the US Ambassador to Dhaka, gave a special message thanking the Bangladeshi citizens for their support in the difficult situation.

The message was published on the website of the US Embassy in Dhaka at 4 pm on Saturday. He said the swearing in of the elected will be held on January 20. Those who have carried out violent and criminal activities against US democracy are being arrested. At the same time legal action will be taken against them. Thanking the Bangladeshis in the message, Miller said, "I thank all the citizens of Bangladesh who have sent messages to support us in this difficult time. Thank you for your friendship, partnership and commitment to democracy.

" ‘The story of every democratic nation is the foundation of struggle, imperfection and the establishment of a running ideology. Democracy is tested. Sometimes we stumble upon it. At the same time we come back through work as committed citizens, always trying to follow the principles we cherish. We will do the same in America again. I hope that as a nation we will move forward with respect and justice for each other. '
