Sports Desk: Former Bangladesh national team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was not in the draft of Bangabandhu T20 tournament due to lack of fit. However, he is ready to play now that he is fit in the middle of the tournament. Meanwhile, two parties have so far expressed interest in taking Mashrafe to the team.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said that Mashrafe's team will be decided through lottery. It is learned that Jamcon Khulna and Fortune Barisal have applied to the BCB for Mashrafe bin Mortaza. Expressing interest in getting Tiger pacer in the team, Jamcon Khulna manager Nafis Iqbal said, "Mashrafe is such a name, he is a player that everyone will want to take." We have also shown interest in him. He added that the issue here is his availability. Separate feedback should also be taken from the board about his condition and fitness.

The board had a policy that Mashrafe's name was not on the draft list at the beginning. But later when he is included many teams may show interest in taking him. At that time the board will decide. Nafis Iqbal added that it remains to be seen whether any other party has shown interest in taking Mashrafe. Then it will be decided who will get how. We have now shown our interest. The rest is up to the board.

Meanwhile, after the draft of Bangabandhu T20 Cup, the BCB informed that any team can take Mashrafe if he is fit. At the time, BCB chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu said that if more than one team wanted to take Mashrafe, his fate would be decided by lottery. This time BCB is going to walk that path. On how the parties can take Mashrafe, Nannu said that if more than one party wants him (Mashrafe), a lottery will be held. But in the end, if only one team wants, they can play directly in that team.
