BFF Election: No objection was lodged over the nomination papers

CNI Desk: No objection was lodged over the nomination papers which were submitted by the candidates to contest the upcoming Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) election.

“Today (Wednesday) the time limit for filing objections on nomination papers was 3:00pm and no objection was lodged during this time. Our next phase is selection which will be held on Friday (September 11).

As no objection was lodged over the nomination papers, we hope we’ll be able to finish the selection procedure very soon. We will publish the final candidate list on September 13,” BFF Chief Election Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Ahmed told media on Wednesday. 

 

“We have already taken the official preparation for the election. We are ready if more needs to be done depending on the situation,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, the three-time Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Kazi Salahuddin, incumbent senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy, Bashundhara Kings President Imrul Hasan and their 21-member panel titled ‘Sammilita Parishad’ submitted their nomination papers at BFF House in the capital.

BFF incumbent President Kazi Salahuddin appeared confident of a landslide victory and informed the media that all the nomination papers of members from his panel were accepted.

“Our panel submitted the nomination papers for all the posts today (Tuesday) and the nomination papers were accepted as well,” said Salahuddin.

Kings President Imrul Hassan voiced his determination to contribute to the cause of the development of Bangladesh’s football.
“This is part of my efforts to contribute to the overall development of Bangladesh football,” said Imrul.

Badal Roy and Shafiqul Islam Manik, who are taking part in the presidential race of BFF against its incumbent president Salahuddin, submitted their nominations papers also.

 

Sheikh Mohammed Aslam, one of the two candidates for senior vice-president, also submitted his nomination paper.

The much-awaited BFF election and congress will be held on October 3 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.

The 139 councillors will be able to exercise their franchise to form the 21-member BFF executive committee, including president, senior vice-president, four vice presidents and fifteen members.

The remaining candidates are:
Eight vice-presidents are: Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, Tabith Awal, Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan, SM Abdullah Al Fuad, Kazi Nabil Ahmed MP, Amirul Islam Babu, Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Manik and Imrul Hasan.
Thirty six EC member candidates are: Abdul Wadud Pintu, Mohammad Sabbir Hosssin, Mohidur Rahman Miraj, Manjurul Ahsan, Imtiaz Sultan Jony, Hazi Mohammad Rafiq, ANM Aminul Haque Mamun, Arif Hosssin Moon, Advocate Saifui Islam, Syed Mustaq Ali Mukul, Ameer Khan, Hazi Tipu Sultan,  Shahkawat Hosssin Bhuiyan, Fazlur Rahman Babul Hasnuzzaman Khan Bablu, Saifur Rahman Moni, Mizanur Rahman, Zakir Hossain Babul, Raihan Kabir, Harun ur Rashid, Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, Satyajit Das Rupu, Elias Hosssin, Bijon Barua, Amit Khan Shuvro, Iqbal Hossain, Mohiuddin Ahmed Salim , Md Zakir Hossain, Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Asaduzzaman Mithu, Kamrul Hasan Hilton, Syed Riazul Karim, Imtiaz Hamid Sabuj, Nurul Islam Nuru, Shakil Mahmud Chowdury and Saifur Rahman Manik.
