"Those who reward the murderer are equal criminals" - Obaidul Quader

News Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that those who reward the murderer are equal criminals. He said that they will tie the knot on August 15 and 21.

Bangabandhu was the target in one and Sheikh Hasina in the other. Hawa Bhavan was the mastermind of this murder. Besides, even though they have been in power more than once, they have not tried the murder of Ziaur Rahman. The Awami League itself condemned the killing at that time.

Obaidul Quader made the remarks on Monday (August 24th) after paying his respects at the Banani cemetery on the 16th death anniversary of Ivy Rahman, wife of former President Zillur Rahman and former Awami League women's affairs secretary.

Leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations paid homage to Ivy Rahman's grave at that time.

The late President Mohammad was seriously injured in a grenade attack on the Awami League's anti-terror peace rally on Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21, 2004. Ivy Rahman, wife of Zillur Rahman. He fought to the death for four days and died on 24 August at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

Ivy Rahman was born on July 7, 1944 in an aristocratic family in Bhairab. His father Jalal Uddin Ahmed was the principal of Dhaka College and his mother Hasina Begum was a housewife.

His only son Nazmul Hasan Papon is currently a Member of Parliament and President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The two daughters are Tania Bakht and Tanima Rahman Moyna.

Ivy Rahman was the chairman of the National Women's Organization and the National Women's Association from 1996 to 2001.
