International Desk: The second round of voting in Iran's presidential election is underway. Voting begins at 8 am local time on Friday.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country's supreme leader, voted for Imam Khomeini Husseini of Tehran as soon as the voting started.

Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that after the vote, the supreme leader described election day as a good day and urged people to participate in this important political process.

Earlier, on June 28, the first phase of the presidential election was held. Later results showed that no single candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote. According to the country's constitution, the first round today is the fight between the highest votes. Masoud Pezeshkian, who is known as a reformist, and Said Jalili, who is known as a radical, are fighting in the second round.

The people of Iran will choose their next president from the two of them.  It should be noted that 2 crore 45 lakh 35 thousand 185 people gave their voting rights in the first phase.

Which is 39.92 percent of total voters. Voting is going on in around 59,000 polling stations across the country, including thousands of mobile stations on Friday. In addition, hundreds of polling stations have been set up abroad so that Iranian diaspora citizens can participate in the elections.
