Oliul Haque Rumi, the popular face of television drama is no more

Entertainment Desk: The popular face of television drama Oliul Haque Rumi is no more. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital on Monday morning. This has been confirmed by his family.

A month ago he was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. Then went to India for treatment. From there, he returned to the country and received treatment at a hospital in the capital.

Before his death, the actor asked for prayers from everyone about his physical illness. He wanted to beat cancer and return to normal life as before. But the actor lost to cancer.

Rumi has spent more than three decades in acting. During this long time, he acted in numerous plays and movies. Rumi started acting in 1988 with the play 'Ekhno Kritdas' at Theater Bailey Road. In the same year, he made his debut on the small screen with the play 'Kon Kanan Phool'. 

Apart from television, he also acted in movies. In 2009, Rumi acted for the first time in the film 'Dariapar Daulati'. This actor was also seen in several dramas this Eid. Currently, a popular serial called 'Bakulpur' starring him is being aired on Deepta TV.

For the past few years, this actor has been acting mostly in the regional language of Barisal. He was getting appreciation from the audience again for this language.  

The notable dramas he acted in are - 'Suggestion Salim', 'Bokasoka Trini', 'Makeup Man', 'Dhaka to Barisal', 'Dhaka Metro Love', 'Journey by Bus', 'Jamj-5', 'Jamj-6'. , 'Jamaj-10', 'Ratane Ratan Chine', '200 Kadbeli' etc.
