Providing medical assistance among Bam groups through Army Medical Campaign

Correspondent: On November 18, 49 members of 11 families of Prata Bampara of Thanchi Sadar Union of Bandarban returned to their homes after eight months with the help of Baklaipara Army Camp. 

In March this year, the Kuki Chin National Front (KNF), an armed organization of the hills, attacked Baklai Para, creating panic among the locals. At that time, a total of 28 families took shelter safely in different places. A medical campaign was organized by Baklaipara sub zone on November 26 (Sunday) under the supervision of 16 East Bengal Regiment in cooperation with Bangladesh Army to rehabilitate the members currently living in Pratapara.

Through this medical campaign, medical assistance has been provided among the general population of the area. It should be noted that specialist doctor's advice and medicine services have been provided to more than 100 general public of a total of 29 families of Pratapara and Baklai Para. A 2000 liter water tank, winter blankets for every family and a solar panel system for their religious institutions have been provided to improve the living standards of the people living in this neighborhood. Mention that fifty members of 12 families located in Pratapara were served lunch from Baklaipara army camp. The Camp Commander of Baklaipara Army Camp said that the Bangladesh Army will always continue to support the common people.
