Kaliakair (Gazipur) Correspondent:   Additional IGP of Highway Police Sahabuddin Khan has appealed to the people going home this Eid journey not to take unfit and unsafe transport on the highway. On Thursday (April 4) afternoon, he came to inspect the overall condition of the highway at the Chandra Bus Terminal area of Gazipur, Dhaka Tangail Highway.

Sahabuddin Khan also said that this year's Eid journey will be much easier than other years. The Highway Police has taken all measures to ensure that the people heading home on Eid can reach their respective destinations without any trouble. Apart from this, there are measures to stop the movement of long-distance vehicles on the highway and stop the movement of unfit vehicles. Especially those who are marginal and garment workers travel long distances in cheap open trucks, bus roofs and pickups. But there is a big risk. To avoid this risk, we request you to refrain from traveling in these transports.

Meanwhile, traffic pressure is constantly increasing on the Chandra highway with Eid ahead. Therefore, additional IGP inaugurated the operation of two high-powered drone cameras to monitor several kilometers of the highway along with the deployment of additional police at important points by the highway police to reduce traffic congestion.

DIG (North) Mahafuzur Rahman of Highway Police, Additional DIG Shyamal Kumar Mukherjee, Additional DIG Mustafizur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Seema Rani Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of Naojor Highway Police Station Shahadat Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliakair Police Station AFM Nasim and others were present.
