News desk: Company taxpayers can submit their annual income tax return till June 15. The National Board of Revenue issued a notification on Monday night (May 15) to provide this facility.
NBR's second secretary (Tax Law-1) Mohidul Islam Chowdhury signed the notification titled 'Extension of time limit for submission of returns for the tax year 2022-23 of company class taxpayers'. For them, the National Board of Revenue has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns till June 15.
As per the Income Tax Ordinance, individual taxpayers as well as company taxpayers are required to file mandatory income tax returns. This return is required to be submitted within 15 days of the end of the calendar year.
Accordingly, the last date for filing the annual income tax return for 2022 was January 15, 2023. Due to various reasons traders could not submit returns on time. They requested to extend the return period. For their convenience, the time for submission of company taxpayers' returns has been extended till June 15, officials of the concerned department of NBR said.
