International Desk: The number of people killed in a Russian missile attack on a residential building in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine, has increased to 40 on Monday. Meanwhile, the United Nations strongly condemned the missile attack on residential areas. News from Anadolu. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' Secretary-General Stephanie Trimble condemned the civilian deaths in Nipro in a statement on Monday.

An official in the city of Dnipro said at least 40 people have been killed so far in Saturday's attack by Russian forces, with 30 others missing. 75 people including 14 children were injured in the attack. It was the deadliest attack in a three-month Russian campaign in cities across Ukraine. Russia launched an intense missile attack across Ukraine on Saturday.

Residents of the collapsed 9-storey residential building in Nipro went missing. Ukrainian officials have expressed disappointment that there is "very little hope" of those who will be rescued alive. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said rescue operations in the city would continue as long as there was even a small chance of saving lives. In a speech on TV, he said that dozens of people, including six children, were rescued from the rubble. We are fighting for every human being.

Russia has started a heavy missile attack on Ukraine since the day before the beginning of the new year. Currently, important infrastructure including power plants in Ukraine are the target of Russian missile attacks, but occasionally Russian missiles also hit civilian homes.
