International Desk: A Polish citizen has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the assassination of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The suspect was arrested in Poland on Wednesday local time. Polish and Ukrainian prosecutors said he was prepared to pass airport security information to Russian intelligence agencies. The accused man was trying to communicate with Russian intelligence directly involved in the Ukraine-Russia war. He was ready to give them details about the Rzeszow-Jasionka airport in southeastern Poland, bordering Ukraine. The airport is the gateway for international military and humanitarian aid deliveries to Ukraine.

It is under US military control. The airport serves international leaders and aid workers traveling in and out of Ukraine. Zelensky also frequently uses this airport. The statement also said that the accused could face up to eight years in prison if convicted. In 2022, Russian forces launched an all-out attack on Ukraine. Since then, several people, including Russian-Spanish dual citizens, have been arrested in Poland on charges of spying for Russia. Poland has been supporting neighboring Ukraine and President Zelenskiy in the war that has been going on for more than two years.
