Sports desk : Bangladesh national cricket team head coach Russell Domingo has resigned. He informed BCB about this decision on Tuesday. The South African coach resigned two days after the Test series loss against India at home.
Domingo left for South Africa on Christmas vacation immediately after the Mirpur Test ended on Sunday. He announced his resignation from there on Tuesday.
The day after the Mirpur Test against India, BCB Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Jalal Younus hinted that there could be a change in the national team's coaching panel. BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon also admitted it the next day. Although the head coach may leave the post, they did not say that then.
But Jalal Yunus's words make it very clear that Domingo is no longer staying. He said, 'We need a coach who has an impact on the team, will have an impact within the team.'
BCB sacked Steve Rhodes in September 2019 due to the failure of the World Cup and appointed Russell Domingo as the head coach. Under him, Bangladesh won the T20I series against Australia and New Zealand at home. New Zealand to win Test for the first time, ODI series in South Africa.
