Bangladesh will be at the third position in South Asia in terms of GDP

News desk: The World Bank has predicted that the growth of Bangladesh's gross domestic product (GDP) may be 6.1 percent in the current financial year. The organization believes that Bangladesh will rank third in terms of growth in South Asia. First position will be Maldives, and second position will be India. This information was informed in a press release sent from the Dhaka office of the World Bank on Thursday (October 6). According to the World Bank, the Maldives, which is at the top of the growth in South Asia, can achieve a growth of 8.1 percent. India, which is next in position, may grow at 7 percent. Sri Lanka's growth will be negative in the current financial year. The country could achieve growth of minus 4.2 percent. Afghanistan's growth could be 5.8 percent. Besides, Bhutan can achieve 4.1 percent growth, Nepal 5.1 percent and Pakistan only 2 percent growth during the same period.
