News desk: Bank account number has been made mandatory for pre-registration of Hajj. For this, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an urgent notification.

It is said in the notification that from the year 1444/2023 Hijri, the persons who wish to perform the holy Hajj, Hajj agencies operating under private management, Hajj offices and pre-registration centers are informed that during the pre-registration and registration of the Hajj, the respective pilgrims must use their own name. Open bank account number, bank name, branch name and routing number and registered mobile number with own NID must be provided at the time of pre-registration. All concerned are requested to cooperate in this regard.

The Holy Hajj will be held in the last week of June next year (year 2023).

Minister of State for Religious Affairs on Tuesday. Faridul Haque Khan told reporters at the secretariat, 'According to the unofficial talks we have had with the Saudi government, according to what I have learned about them, Hajj may be complete this time, insha'Allah. It may not be what we had last year, this time we may get as much as we can get as a ratio.'

In 2019, 127 thousand people from Bangladesh performed Hajj. In the Hajj agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia for 2020, the quota of Bangladeshi pilgrims has been increased by 10,000. In 2020, 1 lakh 37 thousand Bangladeshis could go for Hajj. But no one from Bangladesh could perform Hajj due to the ban of Saudi Arabia due to the coronavirus pandemic. Even in 2021 there was a ban on performing Hajj for foreigners.

When the corona epidemic subsides, Saudi Arabia allows the Hajj from different countries to be halved this year (2022). This time 60 thousand Muslims from Bangladesh performed Hajj.

Due to the corona epidemic, there was a ban on performing Hajj for those above 65 years of age. The state minister for religion also said that there will be no age restrictions for the next Hajj.
