Hurricane should be handed over to BNP leaders: Prime Minister

News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that when developed countries are struggling, we are being frugal. This does not mean we are looting. BNP did the looting. I have seen - BNP leaders are agitating on hurricane. They have to hand over the hurricane. And we are doing everything to keep people well. I will do that.

He said this while participating in a video conference on voluntary blood and plasma donation program on the occasion of National Mourning Day organized by Krishak League on Monday (August 1).

While encouraging the leaders and activists to donate blood, the Awami League president said that every leader and activist of the ideals of the father of the nation will always stand by his side in the service of the people.

Addressing those who criticized the population, he said, our population is now 16.5 crore. This population count is also not to the liking of some. Why? Then they themselves give birth, we will give food. We want every family to be happy and prosperous. We are doing that.

The Prime Minister said that no one's land should remain empty. Everyone will work. Wherever there is empty space, there will be production. Every Awami League leader and worker must do this. Besides, the people of the country should be encouraged in this work.

He said, what has improved the country after the killing of the father of the nation? Went to martial law. The power was seized and made axiomatic. They came to power and destroyed the entire electoral system. Gives indemnity. Protects the murderers of the father of the nation. Brings war criminals to power. He organized everything to move the country away from the spirit of independence. The thief turned us into a robber with false accusations. What did the people of the country get?

Sheikh Hasina said that the progress of the country if there is real democracy is proven today. Awami League has proved that. After coming to power in 1996, I have done many things including the development of roads, school-college infrastructure, community clinics in health care. To say that 96 to 2001 was the period of prosperity of Bangladesh. What did they do after they came? Begging or made the country dependent. Corruption, murder and looting were commonplace. People did not have the right to vote. The terrorists of BNP openly snatched the ballots. They also have to listen to the election, in which mouth they say?

He said that the fate of the people of the country was played by killing the father of the nation. In the future, no one can play such tricks.
