6 deaths in floods in Pakistan

International Desk: Various provinces of Pakistan have been hit by severe floods due to heavy rains. So far 6 people have lost their lives in this. Of the dead, 39 were in Balochistan, the highest in any province. The country's Climate Change Minister Sherry Rahman sees the situation as a national disaster. At a press conference, Pakistan's climate change minister called the death toll a "national disaster." Heavy rains have destroyed hundreds of homes and disrupted rescue efforts in remote areas, he said. The Minister for Climate Change added, “The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has drawn up a plan to deal with the monsoon. However, people are being urged to be vigilant to avoid further damage. We need a comprehensive plan to avoid this [death and destruction]. These destructions are happening due to climate change. ” According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rains are still continuing in different parts of the country. It is likely to rain on July 6. As a result, waterlogging is being warned in the lower parts of the country. However, it did not rain much in Karachi till the end of Wednesday afternoon. However, due to the strong weather system created over the sea, 40-50 mm rainfall is expected in the metropolis. The meteorological department said there was low air pressure south of the Indus. Which is getting moisture generated from the North Arabian Sea. As a result, there may be occasional moderate rain-thunderstorms in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad and Tando Allahyar till July 8. Rainfall has been forecast for Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Sanghar, Nawabshah, Dadu, Noshero Feroze, Kambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Shukkur districts and Karachi. The meteorological department said the rains could cause waterlogging in low-lying areas of Karachi Division, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, Kambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Shukkur districts.
