The time for registration of official pilgrims has been extended by two more days

News Desk: The registration time of Hajj pilgrims has been extended for two more days under government management.

The notification was issued on Sunday night (May 22) to extend the registration period. The last date for registration of pilgrims under public-private management was Sunday.

According to the notification, the registration process of government management package-1 has been closed on the evening of May 22. An extended schedule has been announced as per the Hajj package announced by the government to meet the zero quota. Extended deadline for payment of registration starts 23rd May, last date for extension of payment for registration is 24th May (till banking time). During the extended period, the pilgrims will come under the pre-registration sequence from 25 thousand 925 to the latest sequence 26 thousand 105. People who register on time will only get the opportunity to register under Government Management Package-2.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as of Sunday, 51,851 pilgrims had registered for Hajj under private management and 2,849 under government management.

The holy Hajj will be held in Saudi Arabia on July 7, subject to the sighting of the moon. This time 56 thousand 565 people from Bangladesh will get the opportunity to perform Hajj. Of these, 4,000 will be able to go for Hajj under government management and 53,565 under private management.

Officially, the cost of going for Hajj has been estimated at Tk 5 lakh 26 thousand 340 in package-1 and Tk 4 lakh 82 thousand 150 in package-2.

The cost of performing Hajj through the 'normal package' of private agencies will be 4 lakh 83 thousand 744 rupees. Earlier, the last date for registration of public and private pilgrims was May 18. Later the time was extended to four days.
