Entertainment Desk: International Film Festival of Kerala, one of the leading film festivals in South Asia. The 26th edition of the event started on Friday (March 18). The screen of this year's festival has come up with the much talked about movie of Bangladesh 'Rehana Maryam Noor'. This is the first time the festival has started with a Bangladeshi movie.

Not only that, thanks to 'Rehana', actress Ajmeri Haque Bandhan got special honor in this event in Kerala. He was received with honors at the opening ceremony. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Bijayan was present on the occasion.

He has also been praised on the festival's Facebook page. It has been said, ‘Perfect Ajmeri Haq! The actress from the opening film of the Kerala International Film Festival has captivated everyone. '

This is the first movie selected for the Kerala festival from Bangladesh. Which was selected in the 'Am Sarte Riga' category at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie is directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad. The problems of women due to power structure have been highlighted in this movie.

Bandhan was impressed by the love of the organizers and the audience. "More than 3,000 spectators, critics and others were present," he told the media. Rehana Maryam Noor will be screened for two more days at the 7-day Kerala International Festival. One show will be on March 21 at Tagore Theater, another on March 23 at Ajanta Theater. Bandhan will return to the country at the end of the festival on March 25.

It is worth mentioning that 'Rehana Maryam Noor' directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad has written a unique history in Bangladeshi cinema. Last year, it became the first Bangladeshi film in the official selection at the famous Cannes Film Festival. Got a standing ovation after the exhibition.

The film then won awards at festivals in various countries, including Palm Springs in the United States, Hong Kong in China, Busan in Korea, and Melbourne in Australia. Saberi Alam, Kazi Shami Hossain, Afia Zahin Jaima, Afia Tabassum Varna and others have also acted in it.
