Abahani took took sweet revenge, Mariner in Premier Hockey

CNI Desk: Title contenders Abahani Limited took sweet revenge against arch-rivals and reigning champions Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd with a 4-2 goal win in a crucial match of the Super Five in the ongoing Premier Division Hockey at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Mohammedan earlier crushed Abahani by 4-0 goals in the last match of the first phase of the league at the same venue last week.

 

On Tuesday, Khorshadur Rahman scored twice in the 5th and 33rd minutes while Arshad Hossain and Bjom Kellerman added one each in the 28th and 58th minutes for Abahani.

 

Gonzalo Peilet netted twice for Mohammedan in the 9th and 44th minutes of the game.

In the day’s other match, Mariner Young’s Club earned a 7-1 goal win over Bangladesh Sporting Club at the same venue.

For Mariners, Avishek scored two in 19th and 28th minutes while Sukhjeet Singh, Captain Mamunur Rahman Chayan, Pradeep Mor, Milon Hossain and Shahrukh Ahmed Shah contributed one each in the 14th, 22nd, 29th, 38th and 52nd minutes.

For Bangladesh SC, Krishna Kumar scored the consolation goal in the 50th minute
