95 lakh corona samples were tested in the country

News Desk: The number of sample tests for coronavirus detection in the country has crossed 95 lakh. In the last 24 hours, 26,738 samples were tested in 810 public and private laboratories. The total number of sample tests stood at 95 lakh 26 thousand 150.

Of these, 8 lakh 49 thousand 19 samples were tested in government laboratories and 23 lakh 79 thousand 624 samples were tested in private laboratories.

In December 2019, coronavirus infection occurred in Wuhan, China. Then, from February 2020, sample testing for corona detection started in the country.

Initially, sample testing was done in an RTPCR lab at the Institute of Pathology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) of the Department of Health.

Later, a total of 610 laboratories were set up across the country at the public-private level. Of these, 145 RTPCRs, 55 Gene Expert and 610 Rapid Antigen methods are being tested.
