The publisher of a book promoting extremist ideology of Ansarullah Bangla Team has been arrested

News Desk: Based on the information provided by Md. Kawsar Ahmed Milon and Zahid Mostafa, who were arrested under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Muktagachha Police Station in Mymensingh District on September 16 (Thursday) in an operation by Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU), on September 17 (Saturday) night Md. Habibur Rahman Shamim, 32, an active member of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), publisher and proprietor of Al Rehab Publications, has been arrested for conducting raids on publications.

His permanent address is Mohanpur Nijpara, Araihazar, Narayanganj.

During the arrest, the anti-terrorism unit seized 03 mobile phones from him and a large quantity of extremist books from his publishing house. The arrested accused Md. Habibur Rahman started a publishing company called Al Rehab Publications in 2016.

Feroz, a close associate of Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani, gave him some books by Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani to publish. He publishes and sells books from his publications.

Inspired by the ideology of Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani, he started supporting the Ansarullah Bangla team. He had close relations with some of the organizers of ABT through book publishing.

In addition to the extremist books of Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani, the arrested Md. Habibur Rahman ABT members and other followers also received extremist books such as Gazwatul Hind, Awake O Ummah, O Youth in Search of Truth, Beware of Dajjal Coming, Other Books Supplied, distributed and sold secretly on online platforms.

Besides, at different times, he was sharing various print and video content of Ansarullah Bangla Team's extremist ideology with the supporters. Ansarullah Bangla Team, the long-banned militant group banned from Al-Rehab Publications. He has been handed over to a wise court for plotting to intimidate, intimidate and endanger public safety, secretly selling extremist books online and offline and inciting extremist activities.
