News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has suggested to use electricity more economically. He said the government was charging consumers much less than generating electricity. Therefore, if it is economical to use, it will be possible to bring more people under electricity.

The Prime Minister today inaugurated five power plants capable of generating 69 MW of electricity. The Prime Minister inaugurated the power plants on Sunday morning by joining the main function organized by the Power Department at Bidyut Bhaban through video conference from Ganobhaban. At that time the concerned power plants were also involved in video conferencing.

The head of government said that it should be kept in mind that the cost of the electricity we are producing is much higher. But we are there to serve the customers but to subsidize on a large scale. The cost of production is the same, but you do not have to pay the bill. And much less money is billed.

‘In that case, I would urge everyone to be a little more aware of the use of electricity. When you don't have work on your hands, you turn off the power switches. This will reduce the bill, and you will have to pay less, our electricity will be saved. We will ask everyone for that. '

The five power plants are: 400 MW combined cycle power plant of Bibiana-3 in Habiganj, 100 MW power plant unit in Chittagong, 104 MW power plant in Meghnaghat in Narayanganj, 100 MW power in Madhumati in Bagerhat.

Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Power and Energy, Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Waseka Ayesha Khan, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, were present on the occasion. Anisur Rahman, Power Secretary. Habibur Rahman, Chairman, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Ahmed Kaikaus from Ganobhaban were present.
