News Desk: Bangladesh saw defeat after winning a hat-trick in the short format of T20. The Tigers won three matches in a row against Australia and New Zealand before losing the third match of the series on Sunday.

Bangladesh won the first two matches of the ongoing five-match T20 series against New Zealand. The Tigers would have secured the series with two matches in hand if they had won on Sunday.

In such a simple match, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 7 runs in 19.4 overs after chasing a target of 129 runs against the Kiwis. The Kiwis reduced the gap in the series (2-1) by winning by 52 runs.

Earlier, Bangladesh lost the fourth match after winning the third match in a row in a five-match series against Australia. The Tigers won the last match and secured the series 4-1.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday, losing five wickets for 62 runs in 10.5 overs.

Henry Nicholas then put on an unbeaten 6 off 55 balls for the sixth wicket with Tom Blandell. New Zealand averaged a challenging score of 127/5 in this pair. Nicholas made 36 off 29 balls. Tom Blundell made 30 off 30 balls.

Chasing the target, two openers Liton Das and Mohammad Naeem Sheikh scored 23 runs in 2.5 overs in the opening over. After that Bangladesh lost 10 wickets for 53 runs.

Liton Das, Mehdi Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Naeem Sheikh, Mahmudullah Riyad, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nasum Ahmed and Mostafizur returned to the dressing room one after the other.

Former captain Mushfiqur Rahim was an exception in this procession of batsmen. He kept one side of the wicket at bay, but the gap between the team's defeats was a bit cannon. Mushfiqur batted for 64 minutes and scored a maximum of 20 runs off 36 balls.

Besides, two openers Liton and Naeem returned with 15 and 13 runs. The remaining 6 batsmen could not score two figures. Ejaz Patel took 4 wickets for 18 runs for New Zealand. McClean took 3 wickets for 15 runs.
