News Desk: Several Killed, Others Injured in Shooting at In-N-Out Burger Restaurant in Idaho

Several people were killed and several others injured in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, according to Al Jazeera.

The incident took place on Saturday (1 August). The suspected gunman was also killed, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed.

"We believe there is no longer any threat to the public," Hicks said.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of fatalities or injuries.

Hicks added that the scene was "extremely chaotic" when officers arrived.

Eyewitness Account

Eyewitness Lane Coen said he was waiting at a traffic light near the restaurant when he saw a man carrying an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru area.

According to Coen, another individual armed with a handgun then opened fire on the rifle-wielding man.

He also said that a restaurant employee dragged a woman who had been shot in the chest to safety, where they waited for emergency medical personnel to arrive.

"She was in very serious condition. I don't know if she survived, but I hope she did," Coen said.

Investigation Ongoing

City spokesperson Josh Palmer said preliminary investigations indicate that only one gunman was involved in the attack.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the suspect's identity and determine whether anyone else may have been involved.

Senator Commends First Responders

Following the shooting, Idaho Senator Mike Crapo praised emergency personnel for their swift response.

"I am grateful to Idaho's first responders for their quick action," he said.

This version uses a more polished journalistic style with terms such as "fatalities," "gunman," "investigation ongoing," and "commends first responders," making it suitable for publication on an English-language news website.
