News Desk: Iran's Supreme National Security Council has announced the formation of a new agency to manage the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Tehran has taken this special initiative to oversee the overall operation and security of this important waterway in the Persian Gulf.
This information was confirmed in a statement on social media by Iran's Supreme National Security Council. According to the statement, the newly formed organization has been named the 'Persian Gulf Straits Authority' or the Persian Gulf Straits Authority.
This new agency will basically monitor closely all operations or commercial and military shipping activities in the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, this authority will publish the latest situation of the system and any changes or updates related to its security immediately (real-time). It is believed that Iran has taken this step to strengthen its control and surveillance on one of the world's main energy supply routes.
