Educational Institutions to Close for an Extended Holiday Break

News Desk: All educational institutions in the country are set to go on a long holiday in December, reopening at the beginning of the new year. With the arrival of the new year, students will resume classes with new textbooks. Teachers and students will enjoy an extended break in December marking the winter vacation, Victory Day, and Christmas.

Primary Schools: Including the three discretionary holidays allocated to school heads, primary schools had a total of 78 holidays in 2025. The upcoming long break in December will conclude this year’s holiday schedule. The winter vacation, Victory Day, and Christmas holidays for primary schools will begin on 11 December and continue until 25 December. During this period, students and teachers have been instructed to observe Victory Day on 16 December. In addition, the 2025 government primary school scholarship examinations are scheduled to be held from 21 to 24 December.

Secondary Schools: According to the secondary school holiday calendar, the final holiday of 2025 will begin on 14 December. Before that, 12 and 13 December (Friday and Saturday) will be regular weekly holidays. The secondary school holiday will end on 28 December. After the break, the Grade 8 scholarship examinations will begin on 28 December and continue until 31 December.

Teachers and students have also been instructed to attend their institutions on 16 December to observe Victory Day.

Government and Private Colleges: Holidays in government and private colleges will begin on 14 December, with the previous two days being weekly holidays. Their vacation will end on 28 December. College teachers and students will also attend their campuses to celebrate Victory Day.

Madrasah and Technical Institutions: According to the academic holiday calendar, government and private (independent, Ebtedayee, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil, and Kamil) madrasahs will begin their holidays on 14 December. They will also have regular weekly holidays on 12 and 13 December. Madrasahs will reopen on 28 December. Meanwhile, scholarship examinations will also be held at two levels in madrasahs.
