Information Technology Desk: Starlink, the satellite internet service owned by Elon Musk, experienced a temporary global outage on Monday (September 15). The issue was confirmed in a notice on Starlink's website, which stated, "Our team is investigating."

According to a report by the DownDetector website, approximately 40,000 users in the United States were affected by this outage. Among them, 60 percent of users complained of slow internet speeds, 39 percent faced complete blackouts, and 1 percent experienced internet connectivity issues.

The outage was reported in the US states of Virginia, Louisiana, Indiana, and Washington, as well as internationally in Colombia. Some users reported that while the internet was completely down for several minutes, connectivity was later restored.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX that uses low Earth orbit satellites to provide internet services to remote and conflict-affected areas. Despite Reuters' attempts to seek comment, SpaceX has not responded to the matter so far.
