IT Desk:

Elon Musk-owned satellite internet service Starlink experienced a temporary global disruption on Monday (September 15). Starlink confirmed the issue through a notice on its website, stating, “Our team is investigating the matter.”

According to reports on the DownDetector website, around 40,000 users in the United States were affected by the disruption. Of these, 60% reported slow internet speeds, 39% experienced a complete blackout, and 1% faced connectivity issues.

The disruption was reported not only in the U.S. states of Virginia, Louisiana, Indiana, and Washington but also internationally in Colombia. Some users mentioned that although the internet went down completely for a few minutes, the connection was later restored.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX that provides internet services to remote and conflict-prone areas using low-Earth orbit satellites. Reuters attempted to reach SpaceX for comment, but the company has not responded so far.
