Administration demolishes two brick kilns in Islampur, imposes fine of 4 lakh

Jamalpur Correspondent: The upazila administration and the Department of Environment have demolished two brick kilns in a joint operation against illegal brick kilns in Islampur, Jamalpur.
On Tuesday (March 4) afternoon, a mobile court fined the two brick kilns in the upazila 4 lakhs. At that time, the kilns were ordered to stop their activities.

Islampur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Rezwan Iftekar and Jamalpur Environment Department official Sukumar Saha led the operation.

It is learned that Saudagar Bricks was fined 2 lakhs and Sikha Bricks 2 lakhs, a total of 4 lakhs. Army members and Sarishabari Thana police were present in the operation.

In this regard, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Rezwan Iftekar said, 'When the mobile court was conducted at the brick kiln, they could not show any legal documents of the brick kiln. Along with this, no permission was taken from the Deputy Commissioner for collecting the soil used in making bricks. Three brick kilns have been fined Tk 5 lakh for various irregularities.
