2 women arrested with 5,000 yaba pills and cash in Satkania

Satkania (Chittagong) Correspondent : RAB-7 has arrested two women with 10.68 lakh taka in cash and 5 packets of Yaba in a raid in Satkania, Chittagong based on a secret tip-off.

On Tuesday (February 25) at around 11 pm, a RAB-7 operation team raided a house in Dakshin Dhemsha village of Dhemsha union of the upazila and arrested two women with cash and Yaba.

The two arrested women are Nur Bahar (62), wife of the late Mohammad Ali, a resident of Chander Para area of ​​Ward No. 3 of Dhemsha Union of the upazila, and Rokeya Bibi (21), daughter of the late Abdur Rahman of the Hoaikong Rohingya refugee camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district.

According to RAB-7 sources, some drug dealers were storing Yaba for sale in a house in the southern Dhemsha area under Satkania police station in Chittagong district. Based on that, two women were arrested in a raid at a house in Chander Para of Dhemsha Union. Later, during interrogation and search of the arrested accused in front of the witnesses present, 5,000 pieces of Yaba, specially preserved in black polythene, were recovered from the sand pile of the cowshed of the house and the accused were arrested.

RAB-7 said that the two arrested women had been collecting drugs like Yaba and beer from the border areas of Teknaf and Cox's Bazar districts at low prices for a long time and later selling them at higher prices to various drug dealers and drug users in Chittagong district and the metropolis. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is Tk 3.3 million. The arrested accused and the recovered evidence have been handed over to Satkania Police Station for further legal action.

Satkania Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Jahedul Islam said, RAB-7 arrested two women with Yaba and cash during a raid in Dhemsha Union of Satkania Upazila. Later, they were handed over to Satkania Police Station for legal action. The arrested persons along with the seized evidence have been sent to the court.
