International desk: Israel has launched a drone attack in the southern part of Lebanon amid intense tension between the two neighboring countries. At least two people were killed in Lebanon in an attack by Israel Defense Forces on Monday. The Israeli forces have carried out this attack in Lebanon amid fears of an all-out war between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah over rocket attacks on the Golan Heights.

Last Saturday, 12 children and teenagers were killed in a rocket attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. After this attack, Israel launched a deadly rocket attack on Lebanon for the first time. Israel's ongoing tensions with Hezbollah have raised fears that the Gaza war could escalate into a regional conflict. Lebanon's state-run media said a drone attack on a motorcycle took place in an area along the southern Lebanese border.

Two motorcycle riders were killed and a child was injured. Two others were wounded in separate attacks south of Lebanon near the border. The Israeli military said the strikes targeted Hezbollah members and their facilities. However, the Israeli forces did not give any more information about this attack. Last Saturday, a rocket attack occurred on a football field in the Golan Heights.

Israel has threatened to retaliate, blaming the Iranian-backed Lebanese armed group Hezbollah for the attack on the Israeli-occupied plateau. With this, there is a fear of a new war between the two neighboring countries. On Monday, all flights and landings at the Beirut International Airport in Lebanon have been canceled or suspended. Israel's security cabinet on Sunday authorized the government to respond to the attack on the Golan Heights. However, Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the attack on the Golan Heights. Israel's most widely published newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted unnamed Israeli officials as saying Israel would respond on a limited scale.

But this effect will be significant. • Chaos in Beirut Hezbollah and other allied groups have evacuated their positions in Lebanon and parts of Syria, fearing an Israeli counterattack. A source close to Hezbollah told the French news agency AFP that the move was taken out of fear that they could become targets in these areas. Fear of Israeli retaliation has created a massive disaster at Beirut's international airport.

Hundreds of flights there were canceled on Monday, causing panic among people. Al Jazeera's correspondent from Beirut, Zeina Khodr, said that a chaotic situation arose at Beirut International Airport on Monday morning. Because many airlines have canceled their flights and passengers are waiting in cars lined up outside the terminal, Khodar said, there is concern that the airport could be a target. Sources there said Israeli drones were flying overhead in Rave.

Since the war in Gaza began in October last year, there have been constant cross-border exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and the Israeli military. In addition, this conflict has disrupted air and ship traffic throughout the region due to counter-drone and missile attacks between Israel and Iran last April.
