International Desk: The Supreme Court has ruled that former US President Donald Trump will be immune from prosecution for any formal, official action to alter the results of the 2020 election.

However, there is no exemption for private, informal work. The Supreme Court of the United States has left the decision of whether Trump can face trial in the hands of the lower courts.

As a result of the decision, Trump's trial on charges of tampering does not begin before the Nov. 5 election. Trump will again face President Joe Biden in this election. Trump has denied allegations surrounding the 2020 election results.

Along with that, he has been claiming for a long time that he was deprived of another four years in the White House due to irregularities in the counting of votes. However, if Trump loses the November 5 election, he may face a trial related to the 2020 election. But if he wins, he can order the country's attorney general to drop the case.

The nation's highest court, in a 6-3 decision by nine justices, declared that former presidents have full immunity from prosecution for their official, official duties. However, there will be no immunity for those activities which are considered to be outside the government work.

This decision was the first in the 18th century history of the United States. Where the Supreme Court has declared that former presidents can be immune from criminal charges in any case.
