International Desk: The international organization of journalists, Reporters Without Borders (RSF), has filed a case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) accusing the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) of killing more than a hundred journalists in the ongoing operation of Israeli forces in Gaza.

The indictment of the case filed at the ICC in The Hague on Monday said, "More than 100 journalists have been killed in the war in Gaza so far." Almost all of them were killed in the line of duty and we all have good reason to believe that these incidents were not mere accidents, but many journalists were deliberately targeted.

"People have a right to accurate information, and this right becomes essential in times of conflict," RSF assistant director Antonio Bernard told AFP. Therefore, the killing of journalists is not just an ordinary murder, it is an attack on people's right to information.  According to the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), another international organization of journalists, a total of 107 journalists have been killed in Gaza since the start of the Israeli military operation on October 7.

ICC's top prosecutor Karim Khan has recently requested the issuance of arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant for allegedly ordering the massacre of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Also, he made the same request against Ismail Hania, the head of the political branch of Hamas, and Yahya Sinwar, the top leader of Hamas, and the head of the military branch, Mohammad Deif, for the attack of Hamas fighters in Israel on October 7.

His allegation, however, has been completely rejected by both Hamas and Israel. The United States also reacted angrily to the issue and threatened to impose sanctions against the ICC. In the midst of ongoing discussions, RSF filed a lawsuit against the Israel Defense Forces.
