Fire breaks out in gaming zone in Gujarat, 27 killed

International Desk: A terrible fire has occurred in a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. So far 27 people including 9 children have died in this incident. Officials confirmed that the incident took place on Saturday (May 25) evening. News from NDTV. Assistant Commissioner of Police Vinayak Patel said the bodies were completely burnt and it was difficult to identify them. Meanwhile, the owner of the gaming zone has been arrested by the police.

I grieve for the families who have lost their near and dear ones, including young children. I pray to almighty. Those who are being rescued should be speedily restored.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has ordered immediate treatment of the injured. He said that the municipal corporation and administration have been instructed for immediate rescue and relief operations in the case of fire in the game zone of Rajkot. Rescue operation has started. The fire is now under control.

So far 27 bodies have been recovered and sent to the hospital for autopsy. Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava said, I cannot say anything about how the fire started. This is subject to investigation. We will speak to the fire brigade officials to discuss what action should be taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, a fire official told Indian news agency ANI that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Efforts are underway to extinguish the fire.
