CNG-Truck head-on collision in Kaliakore, 1 killed

Kaliakoi Correspondent:  CNG driver killed in head-on collision between truck and CNG in Kaliakoi, Gazipur. In this incident, the driver of the truck along with the killer truck has been arrested. The accident took place in front of Sourav Garden in Chapair Union on the Kaliakair-Maona regional road on Monday (April 22) morning.

The deceased is Shahid Dewan (35), son of Muktar Dewan of Telina village of Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district. He was a CNG driver by profession. 

According to police sources, Shaheed Dewan left Mauna for Kaliakoi with CNG in pursuit of livelihood on Monday morning and when he reached Chapair Sourav Garden, he collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. In this, the CNG is distorted. The CNG driver was killed on the spot. The locals arrested the driver along with the truck and informed the police. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. Later, the driver along with the truck was arrested.

Kaliakor Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Razzak Raju said that the body was recovered after receiving the information and the driver of the truck was arrested. However, following the request of the relatives, the body was handed over without post-mortem.
