International Desk: Floods caused by heavy rains have disrupted public life in Afghanistan. The country has suffered a great loss. At least 33 people have lost their lives in the country due to floods in the last few days. 27 people were injured. Crops and livestock were severely damaged.

Al Jazeera news. The spokesman of the country's disaster management department, Abdullah Zhan Sayek, said that floodwaters have entered various provinces of the country in addition to Kabul. 33 people died and 27 people were injured. Most of the deaths were caused by roof collapses.

Some of the 600 houses have been completely damaged and some have been partially damaged. Meanwhile, the condition of people as well as cattle has also deteriorated. About 200 domestic animals have died, said the spokesperson of the Disaster Management Department.

Besides, about 800 hectares of agricultural land and 600 kilometers of roads have been damaged. West Farah, Herat, Kandahar and Zabul provinces were the most affected by floods. The country's Meteorological Department has warned that there is no possibility of disaster now. Most of Afghanistan's provinces have been warned that more rain is likely in the coming days. It is also feared that most of the 34 provinces will be affected by this rain.

Since the Taliban returned to power in 2021, foreign aid flows to the country have declined. Natural disasters will create a new crisis for the country. Earlier last February, at least 25 people were killed in a landslide in eastern Afghanistan after heavy snowfall. And in March three weeks of rain killed about 60 people.

The United Nations warned last year that Afghanistan was facing major changes in climate. A lot of this is beginning to be reflected. The country experienced unusually dry weather last winter. As a result farmers are forced to plant their crops late. This time, their crops are getting destroyed due to floods.
