At least 7 military advisers including Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, Commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRCG) were killed in the attack in Damascus.

Although Israel did not accept responsibility for the attack, in a speech on Wednesday, Iran's supreme religious leader Khamenei warned, "By attacking the consulate, it is as if Israel has attacked Iran's soil." They made a mistake. They must get the punishment for this. German airline Lufthansa initially suspended flights to and from Iran until April 11 amid tensions in the Middle East. On Thursday, the airline extended its validity by two days to April 13. Meanwhile, Russia has warned its citizens against traveling to the Middle East. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is continuing the war in Gaza. However, security preparations are being made elsewhere in the face of Iran's threat. "Those who harm us, we will harm them," he said after a tour of the airport. We are ready to fulfill all types of security of the state of Israel, defensively or offensively. Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, the conflict has spread across the Middle East. Iran-backed armed groups in Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq have been carrying out attacks backed by the Palestinians. Iran is avoiding direct conflict with the US or Israel. The Russian Foreign Ministry has advised its citizens not to travel to the Middle East, particularly Israel, Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories.
