Information Technology Desk: The United States Department of Justice has filed a case against the global tech giant Apple. The Department of Justice filed the case in the federal court of the state of New Jersey on Thursday. News from New York Times. According to the lawsuit, Apple is trying to monopolize the smartphone market and control the market through manipulation and abuse of power. As part of this effort, the company is abusing the App Store of its most popular product, the iPhone, the complaint said. The government has formed a 16-member lawyer team with attorney generals of various states to pursue the case. An 88-page complaint was also submitted to the court on the day of the case. It has been said that the company has committed irregularities and abuse of power in at least 5 cases in the overall operation of its business.

The complaint also states that the methods adopted by Apple to artificially raise the price of its products through market regulation and prevent others from accessing its hardware and software are not legal. The US government's legal team also held a press conference after the case. Attorney General Merrick Garland, a member of the legal team, said at the press conference, "Apple is abusing its monopoly power to ensure maximum profits by avoiding competition in the smartphone market." He also called such activities of Apple a "crime" in the current law in the United States. "Consumers should not be overcharged for products from a company that has no regard for the law," Garland said. Meanwhile, after the case, Apple responded to this issue. Company spokesman Fred Sheinz said in a statement, "The case is factually and legally wrong." Apple will fight it with all its might.'
