Capital Dhaka ranks third in terms of unhealthy air quality

News Desk: India's Delhi tops the list of air pollution. And the capital Dhaka ranks third in terms of pollution.

This information is known from the Air Quality Index (IQAIR) index of the air quality monitoring organization on Tuesday (March 19) at 8 am.

Delhi, which tops the list, has an air quality score of 269, meaning its air is at the 'very unhealthy' level. Pakistan's Lahore is in second place. The city has a score of 264. That is, the city of Pakistan is also at the "very unhealthy" level. Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, is in the third position. Dhaka city scores 197, which is unhealthy.

Nepal's Kathmandu is in the fourth position with a score of 193. Chiangmai of Thailand is in the fifth position. The city has a score of 190.

Air quality is considered good if the score is between zero and 50. 51 to 100 is moderate or tolerable air quality. A score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. 151 to 200 is considered unhealthy. A score of 201 to 300 is considered very unhealthy. Besides, if it is more than 301, it is considered disastrous. An AQI between 301 and 400 is considered 'risky', posing a serious health risk to city dwellers.

Generally AQI is determined based on five types of pollutants; For example: particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), NO2, CO, SO2 and ozone (O3).

Air pollution poses serious health risks. It is harmful for people of all ages. However, air pollution is very harmful for children, sick people, elderly and pregnant women.
