According to reports, 20 Palestinians were killed early Tuesday morning in an Israeli airstrike in Rafah and the central part of the Gaza Strip. Officials said 14 people were killed and scores wounded in Israeli airstrikes on several houses and apartments in the southern Gaza town of Rafah near the Egyptian border.

More than 1 million Palestinians displaced by Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip currently take refuge in the city. Separate airstrikes on a house in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip killed six more, medical officials said.

On the other hand, in the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah, about 14 km (8.6 mi) south of Gaza City, the sound of explosions mixed with thunder and rain added to the plight of displaced families staying in tent camps.

Shaban Abdel-Rouf, a father of five from the city of Deir al-Balah, said, "We can no longer distinguish between the sound of lightning and the sound of bombings." We used to wait for the rain and when it was delayed, we would pray to Allah.

Today we are praying that it will not rain. Displaced people are in considerable distress. It should be noted that since the unprecedented cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7, Israel has continued to carry out continuous air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Thousands of buildings including hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques, churches have been damaged or destroyed in this Israeli attack. According to the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian territory of Gaza, more than 31 thousand 700 people have been killed so far as a result of Israel's attack on Gaza. Most of them are women and children. In addition, about 74 thousand people were injured. In addition, more than two million residents have been forced to leave their homes due to Israeli aggression.
