Market monitoring of Daily Products in Kurigram by the Joint Initiative of Police and Administration

Kurigram Correspondent: On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, in the joint initiative of Kurigram district administration and Kurigram district police, raids were conducted in the daily commodity shops of Zia Bazar and Paur Bazar in Kurigram Sadar with the aim of freeing the market from dishonest traders and keeping the price of daily necessities at a bearable level.

 Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md. Sajjad Hossain and Officer-in-charge of Kurigram Police Station Md. Masudur Rahman and Additional District Magistrate Md. Barman Hossain represented the district administration in the raid. Besides, the mobile court was conducted by the learned Executive Magistrate of District Administration: Wazed Wasif.

The learned Executive Magistrate of the district administration immediately fined two grocery shop owners Tk 500 through a mobile court for failing to display the price list during the raid and another grocery shop owner was warned for inconsistency in the price list. At that time, in the presence of the president of the market committee, strict instructions were given by the district administration and Kurigram district police to all the shop owners to follow the government instructions properly to keep the market of daily commodities bearable.

Ruhul Amin said, on the occasion of Holy Ramzan, our market monitoring activities will continue as a joint initiative of the district police and district administration.
